 Madrid Fine Arts Journeys

Madrid Fine Arts Journeys offers specialized Visual Arts Courses and Art related activities focusing on Art Practice, The Prado Museum and Madrid´s unique Cultural and Artistic Heritage.

MFAJ´s courses are taught by Artists for Artists, Art Students and passionate Art-lovers who desire to acquire through direct observation and from a Contemporary perspective, fundamental drawing skills as well as an in depth knowledge of some of the greatest Artists of Western Art including El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Picasso, Dalí and Miró! Participants will enjoy discovering one of Europe´s most vibrant Capital Cities, but will also travel back in time to explore Medieval the towns of Toledo and Segovia!

In small groups to guarantee quality instruction, participants will enjoy:


The seminars on Spanish History, Art History at the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Museums as well as The great Masters of the Prado Museum, are taught by Art Historians and Artists through experiential learning, discussion, multimedia instruction and Museum visits.

Art Practice

The drawing classes are focused on direct observation and gesture drawing. Individualized teaching through demonstration and visual instruction. The Digital Photography workshop will enable participants to experiment with new visions on Photography. Participants will be introduced to the Contemporary Art Market through Art Gallery visits and talks with professionals from the creative industries.

Cultural Excursions

Students will explore Madrid´s rich Artistic and Historical cultural patrimony and enjoy excursions to dreamlike Unesco World Heritage Sites such as Toledo, El Escorial and Segovia, as well as the Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso.

 Madrid Fine Arts Journeys



Participants in the High School Art Immersion and University Art Course will enjoy full room and board and an individual room equipped with cable internet, individual bathroom and phone at Agustinus Nebrija Residence Hall, in Madrid. Address: C/ Cea Bermúdez, 59. 28003 Madrid.

The Residence Hall has 24-hour access security and camera surveillance. For High School groups a MFAJ staff member will always be physically present at the Residence Hall to help, assist and accompany the students.

The common areas have Wi-Fi, game and TV rooms, chill out, Gym, cafeteria, ping-pong area, library, study and work rooms, computers and laundry room.

For Lifelong learners Madrid has a wide variety of accommodation, ranging from top luxury to very fine three-star Hotels, including as well modern Hostels where participants can relax, rest and use as a headquarter to enjoy Madrid´s joyful lifestyle and shopping! We recommend accomodation located in the area referred to as “Madrid Central", where participants will find everything pretty much within walking distance from the Prado Museum, our studio space and most of the Historical Sites and Art Galleries.
